Study results
The study examined anonymized health data in France between 2014 and 2019. It identified 1,650 cases of narcolepsy and compared them to 13,652 individuals without the condition. The results show that the incidence of narcolepsy is stable, with approximately 0.45 to 0.55 cases per 100,000 people per year.
Individuals with narcolepsy had about three times more visits to specialists and their healthcare costs were twice as high as those of individuals without the condition.
